What are the forging and processing methods of valve ball blanks?
The valve ball is used to control the fluid flow state in the fluid conveying pipeline. Because of its simple structure, convenient installation and maintenance, good sealing performance, no internal leakage, and small size, the valve ball is favored by market users. Different valve ball blank forging processing methods are different, so what are the specific forging processing of valve ball blank?

1. According to the temperature of the sphere blank when forging:

(1) Hot forging: heating the billet to a certain temperature and then forging is called hot forging.

(2) Cold forging: Forging the billet at room temperature is called cold forging. The tonnage of the forging equipment required for cold forging is large. Cold forging can obtain higher precision and strength and smoother surface forgings.

(3) Warm forging: The heating temperature of the billet is lower than the temperature during hot forging. It requires smaller tonnage of equipment than cold forging, and can forge forgings with higher strength and rougher surface. It is a new process currently under development.

2. According to the force of the sphere blank

(1) Manual forging processing: relying on the human strike of the hand forging tool box, the blank is forged into a predetermined shape forging on the anvil.

(2) Machine forging: Relying on forging tools to make billets into forgings on various forging equipment. Machine forging can be divided into four categories: free forging, model forging, fetal membrane forging and special forging according to the equipment and tools used:

①Free forging: It is a forging of a metal blank heated to a certain temperature between the upper and lower anvils of the free forging equipment, and the operator controls the deformation of the metal to obtain a forging of the desired shape.

②Model forging: referred to as die forging. It is a production method of placing a metal blank heated to a certain temperature in a die cavity fixed on a die forging equipment for forging and restricting its deformation, thereby obtaining a forging that is consistent with the die cavity.

③ Membrane forging: referred to as fetal membrane forging. It is a deformation method between free forging and die forging. The metal blank heated to a certain temperature is obtained by free forging through the tire film that is not fixed on the free forging equipment.

④Special forging: It is a forging process method in which metal blanks are formed on special equipment or in special molds. Such as precision forging, roll forging rolling, ring rolling, spiral skew rolling, transverse rolling, extrusion forming, etc.
